The seventeenth-century Villa Giusti di Sona, also known as "the New Guastalla", is an expression of that broad not only architectural but also economic, social and artistic phenomenon that spread throughout the Veneto countryside during the modern age and that we all know as "Civilization of the Venetian villas".
The entire cycle of the Venetian villa takes place over five centuries, from the fifteenth to the nineteenth, during which we witness a continuous process of evolution, favored in particular by the great events following the League of Cambrai in 1509. It was the twentieth century , at least for western Veneto, to mark the true end of the villa's civilization; having left a decisive mark on the landscape and the territory, this civilization appears to be deeply linked to the history of the settlement in the Veneto region of modern times.
It follows that, when we propose to study a villa, we cannot ignore the historical and economic context that generated it and with which it maintains an indissoluble bond.
